About Gabe Dubois
My name is Gabe Dubois and I love making videos! I work as a freelancer in Denver, Colorado creating videos for individual clients from start to finish. I’m a top-notch camera operator, a licensed drone pilot, a good producer, a stellar editor, and most importantly, a passionate storyteller.
My most recent role was a staff Video Editor for the nationally broadcasted talk show Daily Blast Live! I got to work on a wide variety of videos on a daily basis. I edited celebrity interviews where we talked to the stars about the latest happenings in the entertainment world. I had opportunities to be creative and work on fun franchise packages and human interest stories. I also got to explore the True Crime world, editing dark, creepy and suspenseful projects where I got people’s hearts pounding as the story unfolded. Finally, as a Jack of all trades in the media industry, I often got called up to work as a field camera operator and graphic designer.
I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in Journalism with an emphasis in Convergance Multimedia Production. Which is a long-winded way of saying that I studied to be the aforementioned Jack of all trades in the media industry. I specialized in video production, but I also gained skills in motion graphics, photography and photo editing, audio engineering, social media, lighting design, interviewing, writing, and more. This gives me a unique ability to oversee and elevate all aspects of a project from pre-production through post-production.
I’ve built a career as both a freelancer, as well as working in the entertainment industry. I got started working in development for reality television companies, working on teams to think of new show ideas and producing sizzle reels to pitch to major networks. I also got my FAA Part 107 commercial drone license, expanding my cinematography skills to the sky.
Some of my work that I am most proud of has been for the American Heart Association, a nonprofit that is very important to me. I was born with congenital heart disease and have undergone two open-heart surgeries throughout my life. I’ve had the opportunity to film, produce and edit the stories of other survivors for fundraising events such as the “Heart Ball” and “Heart and Stroke Walk.” As a survivor myself, it means the world to me to have the opportunity to tell the beautiful stories of others who went through the same life-changing journey, as well as contribute to the American Heart Association's mission.
At the end of the day, every great video tells an even better story. I love telling stories. I’m privileged that I get to do what I love every day. And I’d love nothing more than the opportunity to also tell your story. Contact me for the opportunity to work together.
